Angels Flight is located in downtown Los Angeles’ Bunker Hill district. The Angels Flight funicular was first built in 1902 to help local residents get up the steep incline. In 1969 the “shortest railroad in the world” (315’) was closed. Later reopened a block away in 1996, but closed again in 2001.
This special Southern California railway is a membe rof the The National Register of Historic Places, and par of the must see circuit of tourist attractions in Los Angels.
